Product Information

Name:
Ethyl ±-Iodophenylacetate
Description:

Ethyl ±-Iodophenylacetate is a chemical compound that is used as a mediator in reaction processes. It is derived from the reaction of retinoic acid with methacrylates and has been shown to be a ring-opening amide. The odc activity of ethyl ±-iodophenylacetate has been studied with piperidine as an organocatalyst and activated charcoal as an oxidant. This chemical also has been shown to be able to mediate the synthesis of serotonin by reacting with metal ions, such as Fe2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+. Ethyl ±-iodophenylacetate also reacts with carbon-carbon bonds, which are functional groups found in organic compounds. The functional theory of ethyl ±-iodophenylacetate was first proposed by the German chemist Emil Fischer in 1891.
