4,4'-Bipiperidyl dihydrochloride is a molecule that contains a benzyl group and two piperidine rings. It is centrosymmetric, with anions in the center of the molecule. 4,4'-Bipiperidyl dihydrochloride has viscosity in acidic solutions and can be used to create benzyl-substituted anion exchangers. The intersection of the molecules is at nonyl or pentyl groups. 4,4'-Bipiperidyl dihydrochloride is also programmed to self-assemble into mesoporous materials with a high surface area. This molecule can also be used as an organic solvent for organic reactions.
