Product Information
4-Ethyl-N-(propan-2-yl)aniline (4EA) is an organic compound that is used as a coupling agent in the production of polyurethane. 4EA reacts with styrene monomer to produce a polymer that can be crosslinked with diisocyanate. The reactivity of 4EA depends on the nature of substituents, the type of solvent, and the temperature. It has been shown that 4EA is more reactive in water than in alcohols and yields a higher degree of substitution when reacted with styrene in supercritical CO2. 4EA is an intermediate for the synthesis of other chemicals such as phenols and acetophenone.
