Product Information
- Benzaldehyde, 4-fluoro-3-(phenylmethoxy)-
- 3-Benzyloxy-4-fluorobenzaldehyde
- 4-Fluoro-3-(phenylmethoxy)benzaldehyde
3-(Benzyloxy)-4-fluorobenzaldehyde is an organometallic compound that can be used to study the activity of monoamine transporter proteins. This compound has been shown to inhibit uptake of nitroethane, a drug that is used as a probe for the study of these transporters. 3-(Benzyloxy)-4-fluorobenzaldehyde inhibits uptake by binding to the transporter protein and blocking its active site. 3-(Benzyloxy)-4-fluorobenzaldehyde also has stereoisomers, with one form being more potent than the other. The rate at which this compound is metabolized is dependent on its affinity for cytochrome P450 enzymes.
