Description:
3-[(4-Bromobutoxy)methyl]-3-methyloxetane is a monomer that belongs to the group of amines. It has been shown to have a potent antibacterial activity against staphylococcus and p. aeruginosa, but not against other bacteria. 3-[(4-Bromobutoxy)methyl]-3-methyloxetane has also been found to be useful in the treatment of hemolytic diseases such as sickle cell anemia, where it reduces erythrocyte lysis and hemolysis by inhibiting the polymerization of 2,3-diphosphoglycerate.
