Product Information
8-Methoxyquinoline-4-carbaldehyde is a macrocycle that has been studied using a variety of spectroscopic techniques. The functional theory was used to study the electron density in the molecule and determine which regions were unpaired. The spectra obtained from 8-methoxyquinoline-4-carbaldehyde were then analyzed to identify the parameters that best described its structure. Fluorescence studies were conducted on chloroform solutions of 8-methoxyquinoline-4-carbaldehyde, which showed that it emits light at 440 nm when excited by a laser at 355 nm. Dipyrromethenes have also been used to study 8-methoxyquinoline-4-carbaldehyde because they emit light in the region of 550 nm when excited by a laser at 500 nm. Finally, monomeric dye studies have shown that 8-methoxyquinoline-4-carbaldehyde is not a dye, but rather an electron acceptor.
