Methyl 2-methylbenzo[D]oxazole-4-carboxylate is a potent inhibitor of the polymerase enzyme, which plays a central role in DNA replication. It has been shown to have anticancer activity and can be used as an adjuvant therapy for cancer. The inhibitory effect of methyl 2-methylbenzo[D]oxazole-4-carboxylate on polymerase can be potentiated by other drugs such as adenosine-5'-diphosphoribose (ADP) and carboplatin. Methyl 2-methylbenzo[D]oxazole-4-carboxylate binds to the active site of polymerase through hydrogen bonding, inhibiting the synthesis of DNA. This drug also stabilizes the conformation of the enzyme's active site, which may lead to increased rates of catalysis. The reactive nature of methyl 2-methylbenzo [D] oxazole 4 car
