4-Azepan-1-yl-butyric acid (4AB) is a novel copolymer that has been synthesized by the ring opening polymerization of ethylene and azepan-1-ylacetic acid. It is soluble in water, and displays tunable pH values. 4AB has been shown to be efficient in mice with cancerous tumors, as it was able to reduce tumor size by 43% in less than a week. The polypeptide biodegradability is highly efficient, and 4AB is stable in blood plasma.
