Tert-Butyl(furan-2-yl-methyl)carbamate is a monomer that belongs to the class of crosslinked polymers. It is synthesized by crosslinking of diglycidyl ether with furan. This polymer has been shown to have 5-HT6 receptor agonistic activity and could be used as a potential ligand for pharmacophore studies. Tert-Butyl(furan-2-yl-methyl)carbamate has also been shown to act as a competitive antagonist at the serotonin receptor 5HT6, which may be due to its ability to inhibit alcohol intake in rats.
