[(4,6-Dimethyl-2-pyrimidinyl)-N'-(2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]guanidine (DMPPYG) is a guanylating agent that binds to potassium ion channels, resulting in an increase of the membrane potential and membrane permeability. DMPPYG has been used as a research tool in pharmacology and protein interactions. It has also been shown to be an activator of G protein coupled receptors and as a competitive inhibitor for some ligands. DMPPYG is available at high purity with CAS number 303094-67-9.
