Biotin-dPEG®3-MAL is a ligand that binds to the receptor on ion channels, where it blocks ion passage through the channel. It is used as a research tool in pharmacology, protein interactions, and cell biology. Biotin-dPEG®3-MAL can be used to study the effects of different drugs or toxins on ion channels. It has been shown to be an activator of some ion channels and an inhibitor of others. This ligand is also useful for studying the role of peptides in antibody binding and cell biology.
