CBZ-N-Amido-dPEG®3-Amine is a ligand that binds to the GABA receptor. It was shown to activate the GABA receptor and increase chloride ion conductance in rat hippocampal neurons. The effects of CBZ-N-Amido-dPEG®3-Amine are mediated by its interaction with the GABA receptor, which belongs to the Cys loop family of ligand gated ion channels. This protein is composed of four subunits, two alpha and one beta, each with six transmembrane domains. The alpha subunit contains a binding site for benzodiazepines, including diazepam (Valium). CBZ-N-Amido-dPEG®3-Amine is a high purity reagent that can be used as an inhibitor or activator for cell biology research.
