m-dPEG®24-TFP Ester is a cationic amphiphilic compound that binds to the receptor site of ion channels. It has been used as a research tool and an inhibitor for many protein interactions, such as receptor-ligand and antibody-antigen interactions. The ligand is a polyethylene glycol (PEG) ester of tetrafluorophenyl (TFP) which has four hydrophobic fluorine atoms on the phenyl ring. The anti-blocking property of these hydrophobic fluorine atoms makes it possible for the ligand to bind to the ion channel. m-dPEG®24-TFP Ester can be used in pharmacology, cell biology, and biochemistry research.
