MAL-dPEG®4-(m-dPEG®24)3 is a potent, selective, competitive antagonist of the human cannabinoid receptor CB1. MAL-dPEG®4-(m-dPEG®24)3 binds to the peptide binding site of the CB1 receptor with high affinity and selectivity, and blocks endocannabinoid (eCB)-induced inhibition of adenylyl cyclase. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ion channels in rat dorsal root ganglia neurons. The binding affinity for the CB1 receptor was determined by measuring inhibition of [H]CP55940 binding to rat brain membranes. MAL-dPEG®4-(m-dPEG®24)3 is a pharmacological tool that can be used to investigate CB1 receptors and their interactions with other proteins and peptides.
