Product Information
5-(3,5-Dimethyl-4-nitro-pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)-furan-2-carboxylic acid hydrazide is a metalloprotease inhibitor with glycogen phosphorylase inhibitory activity. It can be used for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis. 5-(3,5-Dimethyl-4-nitro-pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)-furan-2-carboxylic acid hydrazide has a cell growth inhibitory effect and has been shown to have antitubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex. The drug inhibits glycolysis, which is the conversion of glucose into pyruvate by glycogen phosphorylase. This inhibition leads to an accumulation of glucose in the blood stream, which can lead to hyperglycemia.
