Product Information
RAF709 is a small molecule that is effective against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. It activates the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway by binding to Raf, which leads to autophagy and cell death. RAF709 has been shown to be effective against cancers of the breast, ovary, colon, lung, prostate, bladder, kidney, thyroid gland and skin. The effective dose is dependent on the cancer type: for example, RAF709 inhibits cancer growth in murine xenografts at doses as low as 1 mg/kg body weight when administered orally or intraperitoneally. This drug also has an amide group that confers selectivity for Raf over other protein kinases and may have additional biological activity beyond its effects on ERK signaling.
