Product Information
7-Bromo-2-methylquinazolin-4(3H)-one is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in organic solvents. It has an inhibitory effect on boron nitride and chloride, but not polymers. It is used as a polymerization inhibitor in polyurethanes and polyamides. 7-Bromo-2-methylquinazolin-4(3H)-one has an average particle diameter of about 2.0 nm and its hydroxyl group can react with carboxylate groups to form ester bonds with fatty acids. This compound can be used as a monomer for the synthesis of polyesters, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
