1-[5-(2,4-Dimethyl-phenoxymethyl)-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl]-3-p-tolyl-urea is a ligand that binds to receptors and inhibits ion channels. It is a potent inhibitor of voltage gated potassium channels and calcium channels. This peptide has been shown to have no effect on the human acetylcholine receptor. The 1-[5-(2,4-dimethylphenoxymethyl)-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl]-3-p-tolylurea was synthesized by reacting 2,4 dimethylphenoxyacetic acid with 1H-[1,2,3]triazole in the presence of N-methylmorpholine. It is soluble in water and has a purity level of 98%.
