Product Information
- Imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine, 6-bromo-2-phenyl-
6-Bromo-2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is an electrophilic molecule that is used as an antiulcer drug. The importance of this drug is the coupling reaction with alkenes and alkynes to form 1,2,3-triazoles. In the presence of a base, 6-Bromo-2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine can be coupled with electron-deficient alkynes in a one pot process to form 1,4-, 1,5-, and 1,6-triazoles. This molecule can also react with thiophenes to produce 2H-[1,2]oxazinones. 6-Bromo-2-phenylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine has been shown to be reactive towards biomolecules such as proteins and DNA.
