Description

Desacetylcinobufotalin is a quinone compound that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and cardiotonic steroids, which are related to the development of squamous cell carcinoma. Desacetylcinobufotalin also inhibits the influenza virus and toad skin plant virus. The drug has been found to be effective against both human cervical cancer cells and human papillomavirus type 16. Desacetylcinobufotalin is absorbed by uv light, making it useful for medicinal purposes.
