2,8-Decadiyne is an organic compound that can be found in devices that employ macrocyclization reactions. This compound is a ligand for the platinum complex of dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate. It has been shown to be reactive with thioethers and alzheimer's disease, as well as being able to stabilize phosphine. 2,8-Decadiyne has two isomers that are differentiated by the position of the methyl group on the diyne ring. The more reactive isomer reacts at higher temperatures than the less reactive isomer.
