Ethylene Glycol Monopalmitate-d4 is a divalent hydrocarbon that is used in the production of hyaluronic acid. It has been shown to have chemical stability and good solubility properties for use as a carrier for other compounds. The esterification of ethylene glycol monopalmitate with fatty acids yields lipids that are similar to those found in human serum, making it an excellent candidate for drug delivery systems. Ethylene glycol monopalmitate-d4 has been shown to inhibit polymorphonuclear leucocytes, which may be due to its ability to bind with fatty acids and prevent their release from the cells.
