Product Information
1-Bromo-4-nitronaphthalene is an isomer of nitrobenzene. It has a negative charge on its nitro group, which makes it a strong electrophile. It will react with nucleophiles to form an addition product and can be nitrated or nitrosated. The 1-bromo-4-nitronaphthalene can also undergo the following reactions:
1) Reaction with copper to form copper(I) bromide and 4-nitronaphthalene oxide
2) Reaction with ammonia to form 1-bromo-4-aminonaphthalene
3) Reaction with sulfuric acid to form 1,4 dibromonitrobenzene
