N-Tosyl-Lys Chloromethyl Ketone, Hydrochloride (NTCK) is a model system for studying the rate constant of polymerase chain reactions. It has been shown to inhibit human polymorphonuclear leukocytes and hl-60 cells by binding to the protein. NTCK has also been found to be an inhibitor of protease and protein synthesis in chronic cough patients. This agent inhibits apoptosis through its ability to bind to dna and prevent transcription, which may account for its anti-inflammatory properties.
