Hexasulphan is a potent activator of ion channels that belongs to the class of peptides. It interacts with receptors and increases the permeability of cell membranes, which causes an influx of ions. Hexasulphan has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of ligand-gated ion channels, including nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and glutamate receptors. This drug also interacts with peptide neurotransmitters, such as substance P and neurokinin A, and other ligands for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.
