Description:
2-Methoxycarbonyl-indane is a reactive chemical. It has an orientation of the carbonyl group to the hydrogen bond, which is oriented intramolecularly. 2-Methoxycarbonyl-indane has been shown to be capable of binding in a reversible manner to serine proteases that have a specificity for the amino acid serine. 2-Methoxycarbonyl-indane can accommodate various isomers, including those with an orientation of the carbonyl group. This chemical has been shown to have nmr spectra that are dependent on its orientation and has been used in techniques such as oriented methylation and intramolecular hydrogen transfer reactions.
