Product Information
6-Chloro-chroman-2-one is a phenoxy compound that has been shown to have triglyceride levels in rat models. It is also considered to be a chromone and a chroman. 6-Chloro-chroman-2-one has the ability to inhibit the production of lipids by inhibiting the synthesis of cholesterol, fatty acids, and phospholipids. It also inhibits the activity of enzymes such as lipoprotein lipase, which are responsible for breaking down fats into smaller molecules. 6-Chloro-chroman-2-one is an ester that acts as an antilipidemic agent by binding to hydrophobic receptors on the surface of cells, thereby preventing the uptake of lipids from plasma or from other cells. This drug is lipid soluble, which allows it to cross cell membranes and enter cells more easily than water soluble drugs.
