Product Information

Name:
Cyclopentyl(phenyl)methanol
Synonyms:
  • Cyclopentylphenylmethanol
Description:

Cyclopentyl(phenyl)methanol (CPPM) is a heterocyclic compound that is used in the synthesis of sulfur-containing drugs. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with epoxy compounds, and also has receptor activity. CPPM has been shown to be an effective treatment for bladder disease.
CPPM was shown to be a potent inhibitor of pulmonary fibrosis and chronic bronchitis in animal studies. CPPM inhibits the production of cyclic hydrocarbons by inhibiting the catalytic activity of amines, which are involved in the dehydration reactions that lead to these compounds. CPPM also prevents the formation of heterocyclic ring structures by preventing nitrogen atoms from reacting with amines and other amino groups.
