Product Information
6-Methylsulfinylhexyl isothiocyanate (6MSITC) is a compound that has been shown to have detoxification properties. It inhibits the activity of detoxification enzymes, such as glutathione S-transferase and cytochrome P450, in vitro. 6MSITC also prevents the formation of dextran sulfate by interfering with the polymerization of dextrans. 6MSITC has been shown to have physiological effects on the bowel, including preventing colitis induced by trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid and improving liver function. 6MSITC induces c-jun phosphorylation in experimental models and structural analysis has shown that this compound binds to the active site of polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
