3-(Morpholin-4-yl)propanamide is a reactive compound that inhibits the tyrosine kinase activity of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It has been shown to inhibit tumor cell proliferation. 3-(Morpholin-4-yl)propanamide also inhibits EGFR in a reversible manner, preventing the binding of the growth factor with its receptor. This causes a decrease in phosphorylation of EGFR and prevents activation of downstream signaling pathways such as mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs).
