Product Information
- (Methoxymethyl)(Diphenyl)Phosphane Oxide
- Phosphine oxide, (methoxymethyl)diphenyl-
- [Methoxymethyl(phenyl)phosphoryl]benzene
- Diphenyl(methoxymethyl)phosphine oxide
(Methoxymethyl)diphenylphosphine oxide is a hydroxy-containing organometallic compound. It is insoluble in water and has a formyl group and a phosphine oxide. It reacts with aldehydes to produce epoxides, but does not react with alcohols or carboxylic acids. The reaction of (methoxymethyl)diphenylphosphine oxide with vinyl ethers leads to the formation of homologous products. This compound has been shown to be genotoxic in vitro, but no studies on its toxicological effects have been reported.
