Ethyldibutylamine is a colorless gas with a characteristic amine odor. It has a boiling point of -7.8°C and is soluble in water, ether, and alcohol. Ethyldibutylamine is found naturally as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds and can be used to prepare nitro-containing amines. It also reacts with hydroxylamine to form ethylenediamine, which is used in the production of polyurethane resins.
