Description:

5,6-Dihydrodicyclopentadiene is a reactive substance that is sulfonated with sulfuric acid to form 5,6-dihydro-2-sulfo-1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents. This polymer can be oxidized with an oxidation catalyst to form the reaction products of 5,6-dithiodicyclopentadiene and sulfur dioxide. The chromatographic method for this compound involves adding a polarizer and detergent compositions to the reaction solution. The active substances are methyl ethyl ketone and fatty acids. 5,6-Dihydrodicyclopentadiene has a viscosity of 1 cP at 25 °C and a melting point of 91 °C. It contains fatty acids that have been shown to inhibit inflammation by inhibiting the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as
