1,3-Diphenyl-1H-pyrazole is a compound that has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against cancer cell lines. It has been shown to be cytotoxic and can induce apoptosis in certain cancer cells by interfering with the mitochondrial membrane potential. 1,3-Diphenyl-1H-pyrazole also inhibits phosphatase activity and may be used as an antimicrobial agent. This compound is structurally similar to pyrazolopyrimidine antibiotics such as linezolid, which are currently being investigated for possible use as anticancer agents.
