Product Information
1,3-Bis(4-aminophenyl)urea is a synthetic hypsochromic dye that can be synthesized in deionized water. It has been used as a test dye in techniques such as deformation and affinity chromatography. 1,3-Bis(4-aminophenyl)urea binds to the chloride ion and has been shown to inhibit the growth of trypanosomes. This compound also inhibits triazine herbicides such as cyanuric acid and rutin. 1,3-Bis(4-aminophenyl)urea has not been tested in vivo but physicochemical studies have indicated that it is an organic polymer with a high molecular weight and low solubility in water.
