1,4-Butylenediphosphonic acid (BEDP) is a metabolic disorder that is clinically relevant. BEDP has been shown to be effective against bone cancer and is an antimicrobial agent. BEDP has been used for the treatment of patients with x-ray diffraction data and is also used in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. This drug has been observed to cause neuronal death in rats, as well as light emission, which may be due to its ability to form an intermolecular hydrogen bond with zirconium oxide.
