Product Information

Name:
N-(4-tert-Butylcyclohexylidene)hydroxylamine
Synonyms:
  • 4-Tert-Butylcyclohexanone Oxime
  • Cyclohexanone, 4-(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-, Oxime
Description:

N-(4-tert-Butylcyclohexylidene)hydroxylamine is an alicyclic compound that consists of a hydroxyl group, two cyclohexane rings and a tert-butyl group. This product has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Clostridium difficile, which is an intestinal bacterium. It also minimizes the growth of other intestinal bacteria by binding to amines such as primary amines and hydroxyl groups. N-(4-tert-Butylcyclohexylidene)hydroxylamine interacts with the protonated form of the amino acid phenylalanine in the small intestine, followed by conformational changes that lead to deshielding of the amines. The hydroxyl group on this product also minimizes the growth of other intestinal bacteria by binding to amines such as primary amines and hydroxyl groups.
