- (2R)-2-phenylpent-4-en-2-ol
2-Phenyl-4-penten-2-ol is a hydrocarbon that is made from recycled, methoxy, and allylation. It is used to produce tetraallyltin, which has been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory properties in mice. Tetraallyltin was able to reduce the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting their synthesis through bond cleavage. The reaction rate can be catalyzed by a variety of solvents, including water and organic solvents. 2-Phenyl-4-penten-2-ol has a selectivity for forming carbonyl compounds over carboxylic acid products.
