Product Information
2,4-Dinitrophenyl (2,4-DNP) methanol is a fluorescent probe that can be used to measure the rate of nucleotide synthesis in rat primary hepatocytes. 2,4-DNP methanol is metabolized by glucuronidation and pyridinium formation. The rate of metabolism is dependent on the concentration of sodium nitrate in the incubation medium. The kinetic data for this product are obtained using an incubation system with rat primary hepatocytes and sodium nitrate at various concentrations. 2,4-DNP methanol is also present as an ether extract in urine samples from rats orally dosed with 2,4-DNP methanol. This compound can be detected by HPLC or fluorescence spectroscopy.
