- 2-Iodostyrene
1-Iodo-2-vinylbenzene is a proton that can form hypervalent bonds. It is used in the synthesis of oxime derivatives. The molecule has a nucleophilic nature and reacts with electron-deficient alicyclic compounds to form 1,3-dioxanes. 1-Iodo-2-vinylbenzene has been analysed by oesophagoscopy to diagnose gastric cancer. It is also used for the analysis of low molecular weight molecules. This compound functions as a transfer agent and can be used in the synthesis of dimethylformamide, which is an intraluminal drug delivery system.
