Product Information
Netarsudil (trade name Lumigan) is a drug that reduces intraocular pressure in the eye by decreasing the production of aqueous humor. It binds to the rho-kinase enzyme, which is involved in the regulation of vascular permeability and cell proliferation. Netarsudil also inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor signaling and blocks the binding of acidic complex to its receptor, thereby preventing activation of intracellular cascades that lead to increased production of aqueous humor. Netarsudil does not cross the blood-brain barrier and has no significant side effects. The most common adverse effect is transient stinging or irritation in the eye.
