Product Information
2-Thiouridine 5'-phosphate is a synthetic nucleotide that is single-stranded, uncomplexed, and has an optical activity. It is used as a substrate for the kinetics of transfer RNA (tRNA) and as a residue in the anticodon loop of tRNA. 2-Thiouridine 5'-phosphate has been shown to have diffraction properties that are similar to those of other nucleotides. It was also found to be glycosidically linked to the 3'-hydroxyl group of ribose, which provides evidence for it being incorporated into a polymer (i.e., rRNA). Magnetic resonance spectroscopy studies have confirmed this observation by showing that 2-thiouridine 5'-phosphate has a magnetic moment.
