O-Methylisourea bisulfate is a reagent used in the asymmetric synthesis of organic compounds. It inhibits the intramolecular hydrogen transfer reaction, which is an important step in protein synthesis. O-Methylisourea bisulfate has been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of diabetic patients and human serum by inhibiting protein synthesis. This reagent also has inhibitory properties against fatty acid and inorganic acid reactions with hydrogen bonds.
