Sodium 2-methoxy-2-oxoethanesulfonate is a haloalkyl sulfonamide used as a fungicide. It is an ovicidal and fungicidal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, which is essential for fungal cell membranes. Sodium 2-methoxy-2-oxoethanesulfonate also has been shown to have ovicidal activity in poultry.
