Description:
2-(4-Hydrazinylphenyl)acetic acid (AZD5363) is a potent, orally bioavailable PPARγ agonist that has been shown to have clinical efficacy in preclinical models of Alzheimer's disease and type 2 diabetes. AZD5363 promotes the activation of PPARγ receptors and the expression of downstream genes, including the inhibition of amyloid beta production, which is implicated in Alzheimer's disease. This compound also increases insulin sensitivity, improves glucose tolerance and reduces body weight gain in type 2 diabetic mice. Further research into AZD5363 has revealed its potential as an agent for treating diabetes and other metabolic diseases such as obesity.
