Product Information
2-Nitroacridine is an analog of acridine that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is a nitro compound with a linear molecular structure and polarizability. A conformational study on 2-nitroacridine has demonstrated that it possesses an inhibitory effect on the growth of cancer cells. The molecular modeling study revealed that 2-nitroacridine interacts with DNA by forming hydrogen bonding interactions between its amino group and the DNA base thymine.
2-Nitroacridine has also been shown to have optical properties, which can be used for diagnosis or treatment in vivo or in vitro.
