Product Information
Neodymium is a soft, malleable metal that is silver in color and chemically reactive. Neodymium(III) bromide hydrate is an ionic compound that has a choline-stoichiometry of 1:1. The solution temperature for this compound is between 10°C and 20°C. It can be extracted by a liquid-phase extraction technique. Speciation of neodymium can be done using the extractant ionic liquid to extract neodymium from a complex mixture. The extraction parameters for neodymium are dependent on the type of extraction solvent used, which can be either water or an ionic liquid. The crystal structure of neodymium is hexagonal with space group P63/mmc and lattice constants of 0.68 nm in the a-axis direction and 0.92 nm in the c-axis direction.
