Product Information
8-Iodonaphthalen-2-ol is a conformationally constrained macrocyclic inhibitor of the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) protease, which is an enzyme that cleaves viral polyprotein into individual proteins. This drug binds to the active site of HIV protease, thereby preventing the cleavage of viral polyprotein into individual proteins and blocking viral replication. 8-Iodonaphthalen-2-ol has been shown to inhibit taurocholate and cholate bile acid transferases in vitro and may be useful for the treatment of metabolic disorders such as gallstones.
