Product Information
3,5-Dibromo-2,4-dimethylpyridine (3,5-DBMP) is a pyridine that can be synthesized by the reaction of formamide and ammonium formate with oxygen. 3,5-DBMP is used in the synthesis of heterocycles via cross-coupling reactions. It is also an impurity in the synthesis of other chemical compounds such as aminopyridines. This compound has not been characterized crystallographically, but it has been shown to react with formaldehyde and formic acid to give 3,5-dibromo-1H-imidazole (3,5-DBHI). The family members of 3,5-DBMP are structurally similar with each other. They have been found to be reactive towards oxygenases and can undergo a cross coupling reaction with 6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine to produce 2-(triflu
