Decarine is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of hydroxylated phenols. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties, as well as being a strong inhibitor of bowel disease. Decarine inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to their cell membrane and disrupting the mitochondrial membrane potential. It also has been shown to inhibit tumor cells through induction of apoptosis. Decarine is found in plants such as sugarcane, sugar beet, and cassava. The chemical structure is similar to that of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). TFA is used in various industries, including as a solvent for dyes and resins. Decarine can be made by oxidizing carboxylic acids with hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite in the presence of light or radiation. Its molecular formula is C10H14O4F3 and its molecular weight is 272.27 g/mol.br>
